When I stepped out recently with my husband for a much needed and majorly overdue date night, I knew I had to make the most of it by slaying my look because who knew when there would be another opportunity. Anyone else who has a man that’s a workaholic can probably relate!
The look that I put together actually pairs two exciting seasonal trends. The first one involves the use of jewel tone colors. The main ones I have been noticing and loving lately are ruby red, sapphire blue, and emerald green. I definitely plan on rocking all three tones this season, so far I’ve done the ruby red. As you can see from the photo, it’s a gorgeous color and even better, it looks great on all skin tones. Another great option would be to mix and match the different jewel tones with one another to create a bold and beautiful color combination. In fact, be on the lookout for something special in a future post on jewel tone mixes!
The second trend in the look is the faux fur peacoat. I’ve literally seen this trend everywhere I’ve shopped lately. These coats are warm, stylish, and can be paired with anything! As seen in this post, I paired mine with a ribbed velvet midi skirt. I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive at first about wearing such a form-fitting skirt with these serious curves of mine. Once I put the skirt on and styled it with the peacoat, I fell instantly in love! I think the skirt looks great on me and I will be shopping for more just like it! That just goes to show that we should never limit our fashion possibilities because of a certain body type.
I really hope you love this trend as much as I do and will give it a try this season! As always, I would love to know your thoughts. Comment, share, and sign up for the newsletter. Also, tag me on Instagram so that I can see your look inspired by this post.
Note: This post is the first in a five part series. The other four trends will be highlighted in future posts.
